The LOOP Cup was the vision of Hevea's female founder, Terese Hoffeldt. She saw a need for a truly sustainable menstrual cup made out of a natural and biodegradable material like natural rubber. Making innovative products in natural rubber is her specialty - so she got right to work on the design. Living by the sea in Denmark, she found inspiration in the conch shell. She also saw a need for a soft and easy-to-grip stem. And so, the idea of a naturally different menstrual cup by HEVEA was born!

The Hevea LOOP CUP is a menstrual cup with a ground-breaking design that brings a new level of softness, ease and increased comfort for women while also providing an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to other menstrual cups on the market. Made from 100% natural rubber, this plant-based, plastic-free and non-toxic menstrual cup can be used for up to 12 hours of protection.

Natural rubber is very flexible and gentle, making it comfortable and healthy to use, while also avoiding dryness and hazardous chemicals inside your body. The unique shape of the loop cup makes it easy to fold and insert the cup, and the characteristic loop-shaped stem allows you to remove easily when needed.

Each cup comes with its own pretty and practical handmade storage pouch made from upcycled cotton/linen. Each pouch can hold up to 2 loop cups of differing sizes and is perfect for discretion and protection in your bag and on the move when you need it.

The Hevea LOOP CUP is available in 3 different sizes:

• SIZE 1: 4cm outer / 3.5 cm inner measurement
  Total length of 6.3cm
  18ml cup capacity - Ideal for light flow, or for beginners/teenagers
• SIZE 2: 4.3cm outer / 3.8 cm inner measurement
  Total length of 6.8 cm
  25ml cup capacity - Ideal for medium flow, for those who haven't given birth or for those who have given birth by caesarean
• SIZE 3: 4.5 cm outer / 4cm inner measurement
  Total length of 7.2 cm
  30ml cup capacity - Ideal for heavy flow or for those who have given birth naturally

The LOOP CUP should be cleaned in hot/boiling water and must not be cleaned in a microwave or dishwasher. Before first usage, it is recommended to sterilize in boiling water for a couple of minutes. When not in use, it should be kept in a clean and dry place.

It is recommended to replace your loop cup every 1-2 years.

FEMALE-DESIGNED FOR COMFORT – The loop stem design is comfortable for you, while also making it easy to grip when removing the cup. The dipped rim and unique conch shell design ensures the cup is easy to fold and insert, and there is a small hole for suction release, ensuring safe usage with an IUD. On top of that, natural rubber is the softest material - ensuring you won’t feel the cup once it is in place. Made from natural materials, know that each will have its own unique beautiful colouring!

EASY CARE & STORAGE:

FIRST USE: Before using for the first time, sterilise your LOOP Cup by soaking it in boiled water in a clean bowl for five minutes.

THROUGHOUT YOUR CYCLE: You need only rinse your LOOP Cup with water between uses.

AFTER EACH CYCLE: Sterilise your LOOP Cup by soaking it in boiled water in a clean bowl for five minutes. Dry with a clean towel and store it in it’s storage bag in a dry place. Since HEVEA products are made from natural materials, do not store in direct sun.

WARNING: Do not clean in a microwave or dishwasher

GIVE IT TIME - PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!

Using a menstrual cup for the first time can be intimidating! For first time users, we recommend giving it a test run when you are not having your period. And talk to your friends, online communities, and family - the use of menstrual cups is becoming more and more common and they’ll have great tips!

The softness of natural rubber means that you should hardly be able to feel your cup when inserted correctly. If it doesn't feel comfortable, try rotating it or adjusting it slightly, or remove and test inserting it with different fold techniques. And don’t forget - lubricating it with water will help as well!

You can use the cup up to 12 hours depending on your flow. It will take a few uses to get an idea of your flow and how often you need to change your cup, etc. Once you know your cup and how it meshes with your body and flow, you won’t look back!

HEAVE began as a question

Historically, HEVEA began as a question that needed an answer: how to take care of our children and our planet just a little bit better. That makes everything quite simple for us: we were born of an urge to do better. To show that how we act and live in the world makes a difference to ourselves, and our children – the citizens of tomorrow. The lack of natural options for our future generations and the choices we have to make was what made us turn to Hevea Brasiliensis – natural rubber, and this has formed the basis of our mission and our purpose from the very beginning.

PLASTIC IS PASSÉ, NATURAL IS NOW

Hevea, or natural rubber, can replace many kinds of plastic. Hevea decomposes naturally and can be reused to make new products. The wood of the tree itself and the rubber are our only self-imposed limitations when it comes to designing and developing new products. However, this hardly feels limiting as we are still getting to know these materials better and better. In all our curiosity, we keep firmly in contact with our roots and our reason for being here: to give you the option of creating a fingerprint that is slightly better than the one we inherited.

Great design & natural materials

Geographically, our mix is unique. While the hevea trees grow mainly in Southeast Asia, and much of our production requires skills and facilities found close to the plantations where the hevea is harvested, our design philosophy is inherently Danish. Unifying the beautiful design with clear functionality is the core of the renowned Danish design tradition, and we stick to this in discovering and developing all that our cherished hevea can offer.
