Silicea is a substance most often associated with strong hair and nails and can be taken in the form of tablets or gels. It is found in Assist Calcium Absorption, a combination of stinging nettle herb, silicea, calcium and sodium salts.

Alfred Vogel used to create Urticalcin by hand, mixing the ingredients to the correct consistency before hand-pressing the tablets. The demand was such that he soon had to develop a machine to carry out this laborious task for him while maintaining the quality of this most useful mixture.

What is Urticalcin®?

A. Vogel's Assist Calcium Absorption has a number of uses as a herbal food supplement. Silicea, in combination with extracts of freshly harvested stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), helps to strengthen and improve the appearance and function of nails. Assist Calcium Absorption may also be used to support healthy hair growth.

Urticalcin silicea and nettle extract is part of the wide range of A.Vogel herbal remedies. It is made to the highest quality standards in Switzerland and comes in the form of small, easy to take tablets.

Urticalcin takes its name from the Stinging Nettle plant (Urtica dioica). It helps the body take advantage of the silicea and calcium salts present in this supplement as well as in the diet.

Dosage of Urticalcin® tablets:

Adults and children 12 years and over: Place 2 tablets under the tongue, 3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals. Allow tablets to slowly dissolve in the mouth.

Children 6 to 11 years: Give 1 tablet, 2-3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals allowing tablet to slowly dissolve in the mouth, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Tablet may be crushed into powder for children under 11 years.

Urticalcin silicea and nettle extract is convenient to take. This is unlike silicea in the form of gels (silicea gel) which has to be taken 2 hours before any medication to avoid the risk of drug interaction.

Urticalcin silicea and nettle extract is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Please seek medical advice if pregnant.

• Calcium Carbonate 4X 500mcg
• Calcium Phosphate 6X 500mcg
• Sodium Phosphate 6X 500mcg
• Silicea 6X 2.5mg

Also contains lactose, oyster shell, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and pregelatinised potato starch.

This product contains lactose and may not be suitable for those who are lactose intolerant.
