Alfie the Duck - Natural Rubber Bath Toy - Hevea

Alfie is a squidgy tiddly toy – just right for tiny babies and tots.

He is soft and malleable, yet durable and easy to grasp and squeeze for even the tiniest hands. Alfie is squeak free and encourages baby's early development skills through touch and feel. There are no perforations or holes in the bottom. He is 8cm tall, made in Malaysia in fair working conditions, and designed in Denmark. Alfie arrives in a cute box made from FSC certified paper and biodegradable materials with Hevea signature graphics printed in vegetable inks.

The bathing toys should be cleaned by hand. They should not be washed in a dishwasher. For a more natural approach to cleaning your bath toys, use vinegar. Mix four parts white vinegar to one part warm water. Submerge the toys completely or apply the solution to each toy with a sponge.

When the bathing toy is not in use, dry it and keep in a clean and dry place, out of direct sunlight and heat. Produced from 100% natural rubber latex.

HEVEA is made from 100% natural rubber which isn't conserved or given added antioxidants to keep it light yellow. Natural rubber is a natural material that changes over time.

HEAVE began as a question

Historically, HEVEA began as a question that needed an answer: how to take care of our children and our planet just a little bit better. That makes everything quite simple for us: we were born of an urge to do better. To show that how we act and live in the world makes a difference to ourselves, and our children – the citizens of tomorrow. The lack of natural options for our future generations and the choices we have to make was what made us turn to Hevea Brasiliensis – natural rubber, and this has formed the basis of our mission and our purpose from the very beginning.

PLASTIC IS PASSÉ, NATURAL IS NOW

Hevea, or natural rubber, can replace many kinds of plastic. Hevea decomposes naturally and can be reused to make new products. The wood of the tree itself and the rubber are our only self-imposed limitations when it comes to designing and developing new products. However, this hardly feels limiting as we are still getting to know these materials better and better. In all our curiosity, we keep firmly in contact with our roots and our reason for being here: to give you the option of creating a fingerprint that is slightly better than the one we inherited.

Great design & natural materials

Geographically, our mix is unique. While the hevea trees grow mainly in Southeast Asia, and much of our production requires skills and facilities found close to the plantations where the hevea is harvested, our design philosophy is inherently Danish. Unifying the beautiful design with clear functionality is the core of the renowned Danish design tradition, and we stick to this in discovering and developing all that our cherished hevea can offer.
