The Buder Hydrogen Generator uses leading Japanese technology and is assembled in Taiwan. Hydrogen water produced by this generator will maintain a high concentration of hydrogen for up to 72 hours, thanks to the specially designed inner lid on the water jug. This inner lid sits directly on top of the water in the jug, creating an airtight environment, which helps to preserve the hydrogen in the water.

The generator is equipped with a replaceable in-tank ion resin filter, which is designed to reduce scale build-up on the electrodes, and helps to maintain and ensure a long lifetime for the device. This water filter, also known as a water softener, is the same as the filters found in many coffee machines, and is rated for up to 1,000 litres (replace every ~9 months if making two full jugs of hydrogen water daily).

There is no filter in the jug side of the generator, as water is not filtered. If water requires filtration, a separate water filter must be used first. The cleaner and softer the water used in the generator, the better the performance and longevity of the membrane (the heart of the generator). Therefore, reverse osmosis (RO) or distilled water is the very best option, though not necessary.

There is also a small white sponge filter that sits under the water jug. The purpose of this is to bring the hydrogen enriched water from the left side of the machine over to just under the bottom of the jug. This sponge needs to be washed if it gets dirty. The hydrogen gas pumps up through that filter and then through a grid at the bottom of the water jug.

Chlorine & Ozone Free Water

Employing polymer electrolyte membrane electrolysis (SPE/PEM (Solid Polymer Electrolyte/Proton Exchange Membrane)) technology, only pure and safe hydrogen-rich water is generated.

Hydrogen is generated continuously in the base of the jug by two titanium and platinum electrodes, separated by a patented membrane. Hydrogen and oxygen are isolated and only hydrogen gas (H2) passes into the water. This ensures that drinking water is enriched only with a high concentration of pure molecular hydrogen without the formation of electrolysis by-products such as oxygen (O2), ozone (O3), and chlorine gas (Cl2).

How To Use

Open the hydrogen production chamber (tank) on the left, and pour 400ml distilled water in. There is a filter in there which has a “floater” in it. Don’t remove the filter, just pour the water around it. When the water level pushes the floater to the top, the tank is full enough. Replace the lid. You may need to add water to the tank intermittently over time. If the tank is running low on water, there will be a warning light which will flicker on the front of the machine.  [Note: The tank water should be changed every 3 months. To drain out the existing water, unplug the drain at the bottom of the main chamber and empty the tank. Refill with fresh distilled water.]

Water from the tank is intended to seep out the bottom of the tank into the bin (under the water jug). Wait until the white sponge filter is completely soaked, about 2-10 minutes.

Rinse out the water jug well before your first use.

Plug in the machine.

Pour your drinking water into the right side (water jug). The jug can be filled as much or as little as you like, as long as it is at least 30% filled (~600ml), and you may use any water that is drinkable. Distilled or RO water is the best, but any filtered water is fine.

Touch the button on the front of the machine. It will toggle to 10 min, 20 min, or 30 min cycles. [Note: The button is not an on/off button. If you want to stop a cycle prematurely you can do that by either 1) lifting the jug off its base, or 2) unplugging the machine.] Once you have selected the cycle you want, just leave it. The timer will count down to zero and then chime a few times when the water is ready.

You may unplug the machine any time you aren’t using it. This is particularly suggested when you plan to be away for a while or if you won’t be using the machine for a while.

Maintenance

Other than changing the internal filter about every 9 months, the only other maintenance is to run a cleaning (sterilisation) cycle 2 or 3 times each week. This is done by simply filling the jug completely (1,800ml) with water. Push and hold the button for about 5 seconds. The cleaning light will turn on and will clean the internal chamber and pump for 15 minutes. When the lamp inside the chamber turns off, the cleaning is finished. This water is not drinkable, as it is sterilised water enriched with ozone, hypochlorous acid and chlorine peroxide. Ozone kills more than 99% of viruses and bacteria in less than 5 seconds, while being a safe method of disinfection and purification. Sterilised water will easily help to clear fruits and vegetables from harmful chemicals and wax coatings.
