Below are some of the most common coffee drinks you can make with your KitchenAid Espresso Machine – from the basic espresso to milky flat whites to strong macchiatos, get buzzed about your coffee ritual.
Espresso: Single 30ml shot of coffee. A perfect espresso is capped by a 5mm hazel-coloured crema and should be syrupy enough to maintain one teaspoon of white sugar on its surface for 3-4 seconds before it falls through.
Piccolo Latte: A mini latte made with an espresso shot topped with warm, silky milk served in a 100 ml glass demitasse.
Long Black: Single or double shot of espresso topped up with 2/3 cup of hot water.
Cappuccino: Espresso topped up with steamed milk and a thick layer of foam, finished with a dusting of chocolate powder. Proportion is usually 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk, 1/3 foam.
Macchiato: Espresso or Double Ristretto (a short shot of coffee) with a dollop of foamed milk added on top to soften the flavour.
Latté: Espresso topped with steamed milk and a foamed top.
Flat White: Espresso topped with steamed milk and little to no foam.
Mocha: Espresso mixed with one teaspoon of chocolate powder then topped with steamed milk, foam and dusted with chocolate.
