Unless you are already using one of our toothbrushes, yours is almost guaranteed to have nylon bristles (plastic), glues and chemicals. Yes, even the charcoal infused bamboo toothbrushes have nylon bristles too...

These leach BPA, phthalates, PFAS, synthetic glues, chemicals and other carcinogenic and hormone disrupting compounds into your mouth. Not only that, as you brush your teeth, micro and nano plastics are broken off, absorbed and swallowed, every time you brush. 

A recent Pubmed study (PMID: 38092338) showed that up to 120 microplastics shed into your mouth every time you brush your teeth. That’s up to 88,000 micro and nano plastics ingested every year just from busing your teeth alone!

Recent research from the University of New Mexico found microplastics in all 62 human placentas tested. Other studies have now detected microplastics in human blood, breast milk, brain, testicles, and numerous organs throughout the body. Over the past 50 years, male sperm count has declined by more than 50%.

Where do the bristles come from?

Our natural bristle toothbrushes are made using ethically sourced animal hair, and no animals are harmed in the making of these products.

Horse Hair Bristles: Collected through regular grooming. No harm comes to the animals during this process.

Boar Bristles: Sourced as a by-product of the meat industry. The hair used for our brushes would otherwise go to waste.

We choose these materials thoughtfully, prioritising sustainability and responsible use of natural resources.

What’s the difference between Boar & Horse Bristles?

Boar Bristles: Medium–firm, offering a more robust brushing feel.

Horse Hair Bristles: Medium–soft, gentler on gums and sensitive mouths.

Both bristle types naturally soften with use. This process can be sped up by running warm water over the bristles before brushing.

Boar Bristle — Adult: Best for those who prefer a firmer brushing feel.

Horse Hair Bristle — Adult: Ideal for sensitive gums or a gentler daily clean.

Horse Hair Bristle — Child: Designed for smaller mouths and extra-gentle brushing.
