Easy to Install

The easiest installation of any water ioniser!

Just remove the bubbler from the end of your faucet and attach the supplied diverter. Adaptor rings are supplied for most common faucets. You may also choose to connect alkaStream directly to your cold water inlet or you may replace your reverse osmosis faucet with alkaStream, converting your 'dead' RO water into a live, activated health-supporting alkaline ionised antioxidant water.

Normal installation means you’ll be drinking alkaStream water within 30 minutes max.

How it Works
AlkaStream’s unique water is created through 8 layers of filtration and energising media working synergistically. The process is based off of scientifically proven research by Dr. Hidemitsu Hayashi, Director of the Water Institute of Japan.

How does it compare with an electronic water ioniser in performance?
Although it uses no power, has no electronics or complicated plumbing, performance is almost identical. The only major difference is that performance is fully optimised every time a filter replacement is installed. Electronic systems are dependent on the viability of the electronics and electrolysis cell for their continued performance. As such they are far more susceptible to the effects of hard water.

The AlkaStream has a filter specifically designed for hard water. This filter removes excess minerals from the water, then replaces them with vital alkaline minerals.

How long will a filter last?
An AlkaStream filter will last 6 months – depending, as always, on water conditions. When the filter is replaced (a 3 minute job) your AlkaStream returns to full filtration, pH and ORP power. Please note that filter life always depends on input water quality. The AlkaStream has as its first stage, a ceramic membrane that halts sediment entry. Most filters simply let it in and replace the filter when flow slows up due to accumulated sediment. The AlkaStream filter can be removed and 'sanded' down with the included cleansing sheet to remove all sediment and restore flow.

How does it work?
Connected to your faucet with the robust steel diverter valve, the AlkaStream may be activated by a simple twist of the diverter lever. This passes water from the faucet into the AlkaStream, through the filter and out into your glass.

How does the actual water filter compare with electronic water ioniser filters?
An AlkaStream filter is far better than any electronic water ioniser maker’s filter currently sold. It incorporates ceramics, carbon, KDF, ion exchange and far infra red ceramics. We know of no comparable filter on any electronic system.

How does AlkaStream’s pH perform?
In a special laboratory created ‘witches brew’ of pesticides, volatile organics, fluoride chlorine, and minerals, the AlkaStream changed a pH of 6.5 to an output pH 9.5. Please be aware that like any water ioniser, pH output is always dependent upon the mineral makeup of the input water. However the advantage of the AlkaStream is that in areas of hard water with excessive levels of alkaline minerals, it will reduce these minerals and then re-infuse the water with lower, healthier levels of alkaline minerals (as well as micro clustering and ionising the water).

How does the AlkaStream’s O.R.P. compare with electronic water ionisers?
The difference is vital to understand: a water ioniser consists of a replaceable filter and an electrolysis chamber. An AlkaStream consists of a filter only, and all performance comes from the filter. The main problem for electronic water ionisers is that the chamber will accumulate minerals unless it is religiously cleansed. Most major manufacturers reserve the right to void warranty unless they can see evidence that you have been regularly cleaning the system.

Naturally, mineral coating reduces the electrolysis chamber’s ability to both alkalise and ionise, leading to a downward curve in performance over time.

The AlkaStream however, maintains pH and ORP two ways:
1. Through natural ionisation using the proprietary media in the filter and
2. Through replacement of the filter cartridge at six month intervals. This ‘restores’ the AlkaStream to full filtration, pH and ORP performance.

From our testing, we have not achieved ORP levels as strong as some electronic water ionisers have been capable of reaching in optimised trials. However the argument about high ORP neglects to allow for the fact that the body cannot utilise high levels of hydroxyl ions if there is no corresponding free radicals. A hydroxyl ion seeks free radical oxygen atoms. If they do not exist then high ORP has no function. High ORP, however, on an electronic water ioniser, has the disadvantage that it also creates excessively high pH, sometimes making the water bitter and undrinkable. We have achieved over 600mv change in local water through the AlkaStream. This will change depending on your own water sources.

Can AlkaStream remove Fluoride?
The AlkaStream has two filter choices - hard water and soft water. The hard water option uses ion exchange resin, which performs a dual function:
(a) it reduces the level of total dissolved solids and
(b) It absorbs fluoride.
Please note that ion exchange technology works to absorb fluoride until it can absorb no more. At that time it can release fluoride, and will no longer absorb it. For this reason we recommend a six month filter changeover.
The soft water filter removes less fluoride.

How does AlkaStream handle hard water?
The hard water filter is recommended for water that exceeds a TDS of 300. In this situation it will absorb minerals in the water and elute its own level of minerals in alkaline form. This is in contrast to a standard water ioniser that concentrates minerals as it separates acid and alkaline. In hard water areas this means calcium may cause problems including clouding of glassware, accretion in kettles etc for electronic water ioniser users.

Can I connect it in-line to my existing RO?
Yes, the AlkaStream can be connected to your RO in place of your faucet. It will add powerful alkalising and ionising abilities to your 'neutral' RO water.

Can I connect it in-line to my cold water pipe under the sink?
Yes, the AlkaStream can be attached but you'll need a optional kit available form your dealer plus a small hole in your sink bench top.

A Few Things To Keep In Mind
• The AlkaStream doesn't separate out the acids from the water - it absorbs all minerals (and fluoride) and then remineralises with alkaline minerals only.
• It won't produce the same pH and ORP of the electronic systems.
• It will cost more for filters. A filter must be changed about every six months, which costs nearly as much as any regular replacement ioniser filter.

The good news is that it has superb filtration.
